Southern Housing Group embark on exciting partnership

The newly created partnership shall see an additional 13,625kg of reusable household items saved from landfill, proceeding to be made available to people in need through a new Southern Housing Group residents fund. The joint initiative shall contribute to the reduction of Sussex’s carbon footprint and benefit over 200 local people, achieving valuable environmental and social impact.

Established in 1995, the Now! Charity is dedicated to tackling furniture poverty by providing a free household collection and redistribution service across Sussex. In addition, Now! provides life-changing community experiences through a variety of free training courses and skills workshops, whilst representing the UK as a member of RREUSE, the Reuse and Recycling European Social Enterprise Network.

“We are delighted to be working alongside the Southern Housing Group to support their Sussex residents. The residents fund is an initiative which shall impact positively on both people and planet, we look forward to seeing the tangible benefits of our efforts.”

Michael Ryan, CEO @ Now! Charity Group

“Moving house or having to replace large household items can be stressful and expensive at the best of times, but especially when you are on a low income and don’t have access to savings. We are so excited to be working with Now! Charity Group, who offer such a valuable service, providing good quality household essentials at very affordable prices. This is the start of a great partnership, and we are looking forward to working with Now! on developing other opportunities and services for our customers.”
