Safety Guidelines for the reopening of our Furniture Now! stores
All of our Furniture Now! Stores are reopening on Monday 15 June 2020 (Eastbourne, Lewes and Hailsham). We’re looking forward to welcoming you very soon.
We think it’s important to provide a detailed guide of what safety measures you can expect to see in our stores, to ensure all of our staff and customers feel safe. Allowing an enjoyable shopping experience for all.
Our Staff
All our team members are keen to come back to work and support the reopening of our Furniture Now! Stores.
All of our staff have participated in social distancing policy training and shall rigorously apply measures to ensure a safe shopping experience for all.
All of our staff will be wearing extensive PPE every day. This includes face masks, face shields, gloves and aprons.
The Shopping Experience
We will be providing clear guidance when each customer arrives to ensure they feel safe.
There will be a 2 metre distance queuing system in place outside of each store.
There will be a limited number of people allowed in each of the stores. This is so the required 2 metre social distancing rule can be met.
At the till points there will be perspex screens, similar to the ones that are in supermarkets. This is to ensure that both customers and staff feel safe at all times.
There will be tape on the floor inside the store marking out a one way system to follow. There will also be points marked for when queuing at the till point, this is so again the 2 metre social distancing guidelines are met.
Throughout the store there will be helpful posters and graphics to remind you how to remain safe.
We will still be taking cash payments but paying by card (contactless) is preferred.
High touch items such as sofas and mattresses shall be covered by a clear plastic dust sheet.
The Collection/Delivery Experience
The resumption of our household delivery and collection services shall be compliant with COVID-19 guidance.
Where it is possible, our van staff will not enter a customer’s property and items being delivered or collected will not be physically handed over but left somewhere for the other party to collect.
Drivers will be given hand sanitiser to be carried at all times and used after each deliver/collection.
If entering someone’s home cannot be avoided, customers must maintain a minimum of 2 metres distance from the van team wherever possible.
Our van teams will not not enter a household which is isolating and will have the authority to refuse to complete collection/delivery if the customer/donor appears unwell or it doesn’t seem safe to proceed.
If you have any questions about visiting our store from Monday 15 June, please contact us - we’ll be happy to help you!
We're already taking requests for household collections. So if you have a donation, a member of the team will respond to your booking from Wednesday 10 June.
We are anticipating a high demand, so we'd recommend submitting your requests now, so it's dealt with as soon as we return. Book your collection.
We look forward to seeing you from Monday 15 June in a safe and friendly environment.
Best wishes
Michael Ryan and the Now! Charity Team
